Don’t Be Bob!

Gynecomastia AKA Man Boobs

Gynecomastia, Man Boobs, Gyno, Bitch Tits, whatever you want to call them are the vain of many men’s existence. Most guys Love big breasts bouncing in their face that is of course unless it only happens when you go for a jog! Hard to sound cool when you got a black eye and knocked out cold because you got smacked in the face with your own man titties! Yes, I am making lite of an issue many men face and feel ashamed about. We need to remember to laugh at ourselves and not stress so much. There is hope at the end of the tunnel.


What are Man Boobs

Gynecomastia is when you develop glandular tissue in your breasts; as opposed to fat tissue from being overweight. Fat Tissue can be stored anywhere on the body. Some carry it in the belly, thighs, lower back or even the dreaded breast area. As for Gyno there are several reasons the body could be producing this extra tissue; TRT which is Testosterone Replacement Therapy, Steroids, which can up estrogen levels. While no hard scientific studies prove this, many are studying the effects of Tea Tree Oil as a cause. As I found out myself, one of my old Congestive Heart Failure Medications had this Side effect. Illnesses such as Kidney, Liver or Tumors could be the cause. Before you worry most guys have Man Boob simply because of higher Body Fat Levels.


What can We do about those Man Melons

If its Medication or Disease you will have to talk with your Doctor and see what can be done. Many times there are alternative drugs they can give you without those side effects. You also want to make sure it nothing more serious like, a tumor which would have to be removed surgically. If you feel a hard lump you should defiantly seek a Medical Professional to be safe.  Now if you just got a little more “junk” in the trunk, you can either lose weight and lower your overall Body fat or borrow your wife’s Sports Bra. The Choice is yours.

There is no way to do spot reduction in body fat. That is complete bullshit. You have to lose overall body fat. Sorry but that is the truth.


Things we can do to help along with fat loss

While we know we can’t just lose fat in one targeted area, we can target the chest area with weight training. This can help firm up the fill out the area. Proper weight training and diet will have those soft shirt cannons turn into rock hard beach pecs with consistency. We didn’t get fat overnight so it might take some time and real effort, but it will be well worth it. Having good self-esteem and confidence is crucial to being happy.


Here are a Few Chest Exercises to add in to your program

When I was working on my Chest I worked it 3 times per week. I continued training the rest of the days with my normal powerlifting program, but I really wanted my chest it look good. So for Chest days I went with Higher Reps and slightly Lower weight. Remember the weight should still be heavy. We want to build muscle and strength. Here’s the breakdown I used;

  • Dumbbell Bench Press (warm up 10 reps) Then 5 sets of 10 reps (Heavy but light enough to finish all 5 sets).
  • Incline Bench Press 5 sets of 10-12 Reps (you can use Dumbbells I just prefer the Barbell)
  • Chest Fly’s Here I go for a really good range of motion so I would go light and do 4 Sets of 15 reps.
  • Decline Bench Press (one of the most underrated movements) I like to hit all areas of the Chest (Plus it’s a nice Ego boost because you can push a bit more weight) I stuck with the 5 sets of 10 reps.
  • Push-ups or Press-ups I try to do 4 sets of 25 reps and one more set to Failure. ( If you can’t do this many it is perfectly ok, Just work your way up)


With a Little Hard Work, you can say goodbye to those Bitch Tits!

As long as you stay consistent and follow a proper diet. There is no reason you can’t go from the guy with the shirt on in the pool to the guy walking around shirtless for no reason, (well maybe don’t be that guy). Find out your proper Macros and keep up with your training and that is all you have to do! I know it’s easier said than done but you have to ask yourself if you would rather be depressed about your Gyno or if you’re willing to put in a little work and that Confidence.
